Website Design & Management
Oh, you have a website? Now what?
Below this text you will see just a few of the many websites created by the Design Dept over the years. Some were created over 20 years ago. Each website is unique and customized for each client. But just having a website is not enough to get the attention you need. Period. Here’s the rest of the story. Ignore this at your own risk.
Having a website is sort of like having a telephone number. Just because you have a phone number Is no guarantee that you will get calls from prospective clients or customers. It’s no guarantee that you will get your message out. You must take the important steps needed to get your site seen. If you don’t, it’s not really going to be much help to you.
A website is like an online “property,” and you know what they say about having a valuable property. Location location location! And what is the best location for a website? In the top search results! The truth is, If you are not on page one of the search results, you might as well be on another planet in a distant galaxy. Studies show that very few people will dig down into the list beyond page two.
Businesses that get the highest percentage of calls and are viewed the most are located on page one. Getting on page one is like having a billboard on the busiest street in town. You can have a big fancy billboard and spend thousands of dollars on it, but if it’s erected on a small unpaved road out in the Sahara Desert, no one will ever see it! The same is true for a website that is not on page one.
Many times I have seen shabby looking, one-page, websites get a LOT of traffic and some fancy and expensive sites that got NO traffic. Why? We KNOW why. We study this, and have for many years. We know what the search engines are looking for, we give it to them, they send you the traffic, and then your phone rings instead of your competitors’ phone. It sounds simple, but it’s a competition. The algorithms change so you have to study them and make adjustments as needed. You have got to have the most relevant website or you lose traffic to your competition. That’s just the way it is.
Unless YOU get the search engines, like Google, to realize that your website is the most RELEVANT answer to the search query, and that website is the best website for the person searching, why in the world would Google send anyone to your website? Answer is, they won’t. Google will never give out your website address to anyone unless it knows that you have what it takes to make that person happy. The only way Google knows how to make a searcher happy is to send them to the best, most dependable, and most relevant website.
Do this test. Go to Google, Whatever business you are in, put the name of your city and then the name of the business niche you are in. If you are a lawyer and live in Birmingham, Alabama, put Birmingham Alabama lawyer into a Google search. Look at where your business ranks on the results. You are going to see that some big guys are there on the page at the top, the Angi’s List-type companies that spend millions of dollars on advertising. They are there because they pay to be there. After those results, check out who the first “organic” (not paid for) ranking is by a local lawyer. Where are you in the mix? Most of the people looking for a lawyer in Birmingham will be calling that first local business. That should be you. Let’s talk about how to make that happen and start by doing some analyzing of your competition and make sure you are a step or two ahead of them.
We have worked with the following individuals, businesses, and organizations over the years. Thanks for your trust and support!
